DVC 2: A Speculative Design Showcase

What If…

“What if all our buildings (public, commercial, residential) were green buildings to combat climate change and create simpler living?”

For our first showcase, we were to create a speculative design future to explore new design possibilities. Speculative design is looking to the future, focusing on complex problems and futures rather than on the present. However, it does not focus on finding solutions to these hypothetical problems but rather on the possibilities. It focuses on creating a “what if” question centered around one or all three lenses: Environmental, social, and/or technological. My what-if question focuses primarily on the environment but also includes social and technological aspects.
